Acanto, Acantho

In Greek mythology, Acantho (or Acanto ) was the name of a nymph that Apollo lost his head, but rejected the god Acantho, scratched his face, and he became the flower of 'acanthus .
Literally, it means in greek akantha plug : acanthus leaves are very sharp, and in the classical era were used as models for the decoration of the capitals of the columns.
